Horror film “Invasion” directed by Shahram Mokri is present at the 17th Transylvania International Film Festival in Romania, May 25-June 3.
Written and directed by Mokri, the feature was filmed in one shot and has been screened on May 26 and 28 at the festival’s No Limit section, ISNA reported on its Persian website.
The movie had its world premiere in the Panorama section of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival. It is a futuristic tale of a mysterious murder committed in a basketball court.
Mokri, 40, an experimental filmmaker, is widely praised for his previous film ‘Fish & Cat’, which won the Special Orizzonti award from the 70th Venice Film Festival.
Another Iran feature “The Home” by Asghar Yosefi Nejad is also competing at the festival.
It tells the story of grieving girl who has to deal with her father’s will and donate his body to a medical university.
The movie won the best film award at the 35th International Fajr Film Festival. It was screened at Denmark’s Film Institute and the 37th International Istanbul Film Festival.
