Dubai’s 11th International Film Festival (DIFF) will kick off on December 10, screening both internationally recognized films and nationally lauded works.
Screened around the world this year ‘Snow’, ‘A Cubic Meters of Love’, and ‘I Am Not Angry’ are the films from Iran to be shown at this prestigious event.
The critically acclaimed film ‘Snow’ by Director and Producer Mehdi Rahmani shows the intensely credible Roya Teimooriyan, Afshin Hashemi, and Mohammad-Reza Ghaffari in a deeply gripping film about the unpredictability of life and all its follies. It tells the story of a once affluent family who fall under hard times and must hide their poverty from their only daughter’s potential suitor from abroad.
‘A Few Cubic Meters of Love’ directed by Jamshid Mahmoudi and starring Hassiba Ebrahimi, Saed Soheili, Nader Fallah, Alireza Ostadi, and Masoud Mirtaheri, is a love story between an Iranian factory worker Saber and the daughter of an illegal Afghan worker Marona. Inspired by a true story, a romance unfolds; the conclusion of which no one can foretell. The movie is the official Afghan submission to the Oscar 2015 Awards.
Directed by Reza Dormishian, ‘I Am Not Angry’ is a drama centering on the life of Navid who, unable to continue his studies at university and confronting social aberrations, tries to avoid losing Setareh, the girl he has fallen in love with. Navid Mohammadzadeh, Baran Kosari, Reza Behboudi, Misagh Zare, Milad Rahimi are among the actors.
A number of 2014 world renowned movies are also participating in this year’s edition of the festival including: Birdman, Foxcatcher, Wild, Into the Woods and The Imitation Game.
Awarding the best, DIFF will conclude on December 17.
