The first short feature film by documentarian Ronak Jafari will compete with 11 films at the 40th Moscow International Film Festival, April 19-26.
Not much has been revealed of the story of Jafari’s ‘Double’. What is known is that it revolves around two women trekking a long road to a village, Mehr News Agency reported. Sahra Asadollahi, Banafsheh A’rabi, Houman Rahnamoun, Toufan Mehrdadian, Alireza Pourhashem, Behnam Momeni, Shima Khazaei, Dorsa Abolfazli, and Amir Shahverdi are in the cast.
The movie will vie for the main prize in the short films competition section with 11 other films from countries including India, Bulgaria, Russia, Germany, Palestine and Sweden.
Filmmaker, actor and head of Russia’s Cinematographers’ Union, Nikita Mikhalkov has been the president of the event since 2000.
