33-Meter-Long Painting

Experimental painter Navid Fard has set up his latest show at Iranian Artists Forum with a solo work.

One huge painting is hung at the Summer Gallery in IAF. It is Fard’s second solo exhibit in Iran. He is an emerging contemporary Iranian artist based in Toronto. His paintings are a mix of abstract and figurative forms, according to the Persian-language newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad.

Under the banner of ‘Occurrence’, the exhibition opened on April 13 and will continue for 11 days. On display is a long stretch of cloth (33mX1.5m) painted with various materials and techniques. “The work narrates something Fard cannot put in words,” says the statement of the exhibit.

Painter Aydin Aghdashlou has written a note on the exhibit: “For years I’ve been observing how Navid Fard evolved his works. He started with detailed and precise works and gradually shifted toward simplicity and minimalism. It took him years of hard work to build his visual world. He reduced colors and ended up in a finalized equilibrium of black and white … He never stops experimenting.”Iranian Artists Forum is located at Artists Park on Iranshahr Street.
