Tjeknavorian Will Sign His Album at Vahdat Hall

Iranian-Armenian composer and conductor Loris Tjeknavorian’s ‘Selected Pieces’ in a DVD will be unveiled at a ceremony on Tuesday at Vahdat Hall in Tehran. The album includes 15 compositions by the veteran musician, all performed in the past years by domestic and foreign orchestras, Honaronline reported. There are 13 audio tracks and two video-clips in the album. The collection is prepared for public release by Rad Noandish artistic and cultural institution, a Tehran-based publisher of books, music and cultural products. At the unveiling ceremony, a documentary of Tjeknavorian’s works will be screened. He will sign the album which will be distributed by Pakhsh-Honar Institute. Vahdat Hall is located on Shahryar Blvd., Hafez Street, south of Enqelab Avenue. Tjeknavorian, 80, is one of the leading conductors of his generation. He has led international orchestras in Austria, the UK, Canada, Hungary, Finland, Armenia, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Africa, the US and Denmark, besides Iran. He leads ensembles mostly as a guest conductor, because “I don’t like to limit myself to a specific framework. The most important thing for me is freedom, without which, my creativity can’t flourish,” he once said. Since 2009 to date, Tjeknavorian has dedicated part of his time to painting and writing short stories, besides composing music.
