Iran’s National Orchestra conducted by veteran composer Fereydoun Shahbazian will perform at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall, featuring traditional Persian vocalist and composer Vahid Taj as the singer of the event.
The concert is slated for May 9 at 9:30 p.m. The National Orchestra will perform one of Shahbazian’s compositions named “Avar” (Debris). Shahbazian composed the piece for a namesake movie made by director and screenwriter Sirous Alvand in 1985.
Other pieces to be presented at the concert are a selection of works created by Iranian composers Rouhollah Khaleqi, Hossein Dehlavi and Arash Kamvar, Gratomic.com reported.
Accompanying the orchestra, Taj will sing pieces by contemporary poet Fereydoun Moshiri, folk lyricist Karim Fakour, poet and songwriter Bijan Taraqqi, poet and writer Ali Bakhtiari, as well as by poet and hagiographer Attar of Neyshabour (1145-1221).
Tickets to the orchestra are available at Iranconcert.com. The venue is located on Hafez Street at Shahryar Boulevard south of Enqelab Avenue.
