Renewed Call for Short Films for ASA Humanitarian Festival

The call for the 2nd ASA International Humanitarian Film Festival in Weimar, Germany, has been extended to June 18. So far more than 2,000 short films, documentaries and animations from 120 countries have been submitted for competition in the festival, ISNA reported on its Persian website. Headed by filmmaker Majid Mosahebi, the festival focuses on various issues including a world without borders, alleviating poverty, plight of refugees, forgotten victims, children and world tragedies, water shortage, environmental degradation and women in traditional and modern societies. Supported by the United Nations, the first festival of humanitarian films was held in Iran and Switzerland last year with the motto “The Universe is the Repetition of Love”. Those interested in attending can submit their films online on the festival website Asafest.com. Sixty films will be selected by the jury. Long feature films will also be screened on the sidelines of the festival along with three technical workshops.  The festival will open on September 28 by Weimar mayor and run until October 2.
