Pop singer Simin Ghanem is to perform a concert for women at Vahdat Hall on July 5-6. The concert features her famous hit songs including "Gole Goldun" (Home Flower) and "Asemoun-e Abi" (Blue Sky), performed by an all- female band, Iranconcert reported. Daf player Sara Ahmadi, violinist Azadeh Shams, Armina Jafari on the drum, flute player Niloofar Ebrahimi and Forough Fazli on piano will accompany the 73-year-old vocalist. Ghanem studied music under composer and violinist Ali Tajvidi and began singing professionally in 1962. She made her first reappearance in 1999 at a concert in Sahra Cinema in Tehran.
