Short film “Compass” directed by Meysam Abbasi is to be presented in the market section of the eighth Social World Film Festival in Italy, slated for July 29-August 5.
Compass is the story of a lonely old man whose only social contact is with a senior lady who comes and sits on a bench across from the man’s house to watch pigeons, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.
Hossein Qaderi and Fatemeh Mortazi are sole actors of the short film.
Based off the Sorrento Coast, southern end of the Bay of Naples, the festival seeks to combine the passion for youth cinema with important social themes. The market section named Young Film Market has been added to the festival from 2017.
