Shahrzad Theater in Tehran is going to host Concept Contemporary Art Event, a program featuring various works and presentations by contemporary artists.
“Concept” is planned as a monthly event. The first program will be held on July 7, Tasnim News Agency reported on its Persian website.
Renowned artists have been invited to present their works. The art program has a flexible approach in admitting the artworks which can be performance art, video, installation art, painting, collage art or environmental art, also known as land art. The only condition is that the works should be conceptual.
Conceptual art, simply called conceptualism, is art in which the concept or idea involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic, technical, and material concerns.
Actor and assistant director Masoud Baharlou has organized and funded the event in collaboration with Ajax Art Group that has several artists as its members.
