Acclaimed traditional singer Salar Aghili intends to hold two concerts on July 25-26 at Vahdat Hall in Tehran.
Named “Let’s Have a New Pattern,” the event will include pieces composed by musician and tar virtuoso Mahyar Alizadeh including “Tell Me Where you Are” a poem by Ahoura Iman and “Have a Look” by 13th century poet writer and sufi master Fakhr-al-Din Iraqi as well as some instrumental pieces.
Also included in the repertoire are the well-known everlasting pieces “Iran” and “Gleaner,” Honaronline reported on its Persian website.
Aghili will be accompanied by a choir of 21 members conducted by Milad Omranlou. In the orchestra Shaqayeq Sadeqian will play the flute, Mahyar Tahmasbi will be on violoncello, Farshid Patinian on contrabass, and Behtash Abolqasem on percussion.
A prominent vocalist among young traditional musicians, Aghili, 40, has said he is committed to passing on the values of Persian music from masters such as Mohammad Reza Shajarian to the new and coming generations.
