Comic Adventures of Rain King

The Novel “Henderson the Rain King” written by award winning Canadian writer Saul Bellow is now available in Persian.

Translated by Mojtaba Abdullah-Nejad, the publisher is Nashr-e Now publication, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website. First released in 1959, the book is a blend of philosophical discourse and comical adventures of Eugene Henderson, a troubled middle aged man. Despite his wealth and high social status, he feels restless and unfulfilled, and harbors a spiritual void that manifests itself as an inner voice crying out “I want, I want, I want”. Hoping to discover what the voice wants, Henderson goes to Africa. The Pulitzer Prize and Nobel Prize winner, Saul Bellow (1915-2005) is widely regarded as one of the 20th century’s greatest authors.
