Short film "Endless?" directed by Maryam Zahiri-Mehr and feature film "The Last Class" by Mohammad Kheimehgahi had their world premiere at Regina International Film Festival in Regina, capital of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, August 14-18.
Endless? is about a grief-stricken, reclusive woman, her painful past and the trauma that lingers on, IRNA reported.
The Last Class follows Navid, a 10-year-old boy, who along with his classmates decides to buy a watch as a gift for his teacher who has not attended class for a long time. However, he cannot afford the watch with his own meager savings.
Three other Iranian features and seven other shorts are also among the films scheduled for screening at the event.
The selected films include "21 Days Later" by Mohammadreza Kheradmandan, "Human Comedy" by Mohammad-Hadi Karimi, and "Golnesa" by Sattar Chamani-Gol.
Two of the shorts selected for screening are also directed by Kheradmandan: "Mother" and "Reporter."
"The Fox" and "Framed" by Sadeq Javadi-Nikjeh, "Balance" by Barzan Rostami, and "Are You Volleyball" by Mohammad Bakhshi are also among the short entries.
Another film from Iran in the list is "Scratched Blue Sky" by Cyrus Esfandiar which is a co-production from Iran and the Netherlands.
