The International Exhibition on Environment, Renewable Energy and Energy Saving opened at Tehran's permanent fairground on Wednesday.
Authorities from the Department of Environment, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization, the Industries Ministry and relevant associations and unions visited the fair on the opening day.
More than 220 domestic and foreign companies showcase their latest products and services in the expo, IRIB News Agency reported.
Foreign companies from 10 countries, namely Norway, China, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Austria, Taiwan, Switzerland, South Korea and Italy, are attending the event.
The displayed items are related to areas ranging from environmental protection, recycling and treatment to energy efficiency, green energies and pollution monitoring, as well as water and wastewater testing.
Some 100 environmental NGOs from 31 provinces are also presenting their successful experiences in protecting the Nature.
Training sessions for children and school students, specialized workshops and conferences on ecological subjects will also be held on the sidelines of the event.
Energy and environment are closely related concepts, since many ecological problems result from the methods of generating and consuming energy.
The exhibition is an opportunity for industries to offer green technologies and plan their future policies based on market demand. The exhibition will close on Feb. 24.
