98% of Aleppo Under Gov’t Control

The Syrian Army has taken control over 98% of Aleppo’s territory, the Russian Center for Reconciliation of opposing sides said in a statement on Tuesday. “In the past 24 hours, the Syrian troops have liberated another 11 quarters of eastern Aleppo. Thus, the Syrian government now controls over 98% of the territory of Aleppo, the total area of the eastern Aleppo’s quarters where militants still remain, is no more than 3 square kilometers,” the statement reads, TASS News Agency reported. According to the center, since the operation to free Aleppo began, Russian officers have evacuated over 110,000 civilians, including 44,367 children from the eastern part of the city. More than 7,000 civilians have returned to their homes in the liberated quarters from the western districts of the city.
